Where did June go!?

We've had an exciting month of June visiting with LOTS of family and much needed time off from work. I'm sad to see everyone go but when I look to what is to come in the next months I realize there is plenty to look forward to!!

So first I will share my latest belly pic with you guys, I am at WK22 now!! Still feeling pretty good just SUPER tired all the time no matter how much sleep I get (which isn't much!!) I think I'm getting used to it though because I still manage to get things done and more!! I've also started to experience some pressure in my lower belly; baby Evelyn is sitting very low and I can sure feel it. It started about two weeks ago, I can feel it with every step I take. But I hear it's pretty norm and I will only feel more pressure as she grows. So I just have to deal! My yoga instructor did tell me though that there are some positions I can do to ease it and I also decided that swimming helped it after going to the pool with my Niece and Nephew last weekend. Other than those things that's about the only discomfort I have. I have a Dr. appt next Wednesday; just a check up, no sono...excited to hear her heartbeat though and see how she is growing. She has been moving around A LOT more, especially in the past few days. I find that the more I'm moving around and then decide to sit, she will then start to move around. If I'm sitting for long periods of time she doesn't really move. Matt has been able to feel her a little more so that has been fun for him and myself...I love seeing his face light up!! I haven't been sleeping well for the past few weeks so I finally went out and bought the "Snoogle" or as I like to call Bumpie, Snaggle, Swoozie...I can never remember what it's called, Matt always has to remind me haha. Anyways, I tried it out last night on the couch and in bed and really like it so far. We will see if it helps! Matt snapped a pic of me sitting with it on the couch; you can't tell but it's all twirled up behind my back...so comfy:)

That's it for now but more to come!

Family in town!

We went down to HTown a few weeks ago to visit with Matt's sister Donna, her family and one of his other sisters Amy and her family!! We had SUCH a great time with everyone. The weekend was filled with chasing kids, food and more food!! Here are some of my favorite pics from that weekend.

Woolen's visit to Dallas!

After seeing the Woolen family in Houston they came up to Dallas the following weekend for a wedding. So that meant Matt and I were on babysitting duty!! We had a great time with our Niece and Nephew...they were exhausting but definitely so much fun:)

Saved the best for last....haha

Good times!!

A little more sprucing up in the Kitchen!

So last Sunday, the day I planned on relaxing...I was doing my daily routine of reading my favorite blogger sites and got the idea to fix up our little window over our kitchen sink!

I knew I had some cute curtains that my MIL gave me when we moved in; they were actually Matt's Grandma's curtains she had in her home:) I love sentimental things...

Anyways, I went out to BB&B and bought a plain ol' tension rod for like $5...cheap and I knew it would do the job. I also stopped at Anthro and happened to find the cutest little rustic pots for only $8 a pop!! And that was at regular price; I don't think I've ever found something at Anthro for that cheap at reg price;) I knew they would be perfect to line up on the window sil.

Brought it all back home, ironed the curtains, put them up on the rod, found some knick knacks around the house to place in the pots and VIOLA a spruced up kitchen window for under $30! Much better than the blahness that was there before:) This will definitely do until we can afford shutters in the house!!

Close up of the cute new pots I got and the curtains...

YAY for cheap and easy house projects!!

Updates to China Cabinet!!!

Ok so NOW the cabinet is all done...we put in new paper on the back wall and I added a little more distressing to the wood. I'm so excited with how this piece turned out!! I think the new paper really helped update the piece. It has given me so much motivation to do more with old furniture:) So much fun!!

Here is a picture of the original paper backing...
Here is the new paper!!

Here is a better view of the paper and the cabinet...

Here's a pic of some more distressing I did...

The finished project WITH all of my china!!! It was so fun unboxing it all; it was like we just got married all over again;)

We still have to install the hardware pieces on the bottom part of the cabinet but have to get new nails and with 2 trips already to Home Depot that night, there was no way we were going again!!

For more before pics of this project, see below post:) If you haven't already figured it out...I'm quite proud!

Love to all!!

Crossing off the list...

So we FINALLY finished our kitchen cabinets, only took us a month!! Well technically it was only 3 weeks, we had a trip to Austin in the middle there;) It looks SO great though, we are very happy with how it turned out. It's so bright and airy, I'm in love with it!! Take a look at the before and after pictures.

BEFORE...

AFTER!!!

I also finally got around to painting my china cabinet that I bought off of Craigslist probably almost a year ago. I knew I wanted to refinish it but was always nervous to get it started. I have to say, I think it turned out pretty great...exactly the look I was going for!! I'm going to do a little more sanding though to bring out more of a distressed look. It was such a fun project and I'm pretty sure I'd like to do the same kind of thing to a dining room table....if I can ever find one!! For those of you that know me you know I'm a pretty indecisive person and between Craigslist, Garage Sales, Antique Stores and Blogs there are SO many pieces I find but just can't make up my dang mind!!

BEFORE...a weird creamy color

AFTER!! A lovely soft white:)

I zoomed in so you could see some of the distressing I did. We're going to change out the paper on the back of the cabinet, something lighter and more updated!

Last but certainly not least, we finally bought a fan to go up in our master bedroom. I love this fan, I can FINALLY sleep at night!! Since I hit my 2nd trimester I haven't been sleeping so great, I'm either hot, not comfortable or waking up to pee in the middle of the night. Not to mention it pulls our whole bedroom together:) We have done a LOT of work to our house. In our bedroom we scraped the popcorn ceilings, repainted the room, laid wood floors and replaced the fan!! Boy has it come a long way...

BEFORE...(took this picture when we walked thru the house for the first time)

AFTER!!! Looks like a completely different room!

Ok we'll it's WAY past my bed time...this thing is so hard to update with pictures, takes forever!! We will probably take a few weeks off from doing anything around the house because we have a busy and exciting few weeks ahead of us!! Two of Matt's sisters (Amy and Donna) and their families are visiting Houston next weekend so we are going down to visit with them:) Then the whole Woolen fam (Amy, Randy and our niece and nephew) are coming up to Dallas the following weekend for a wedding and will be staying with us! Matt and I are SO excited to hang out with Riley and Brooke, he's thinking of taking them to do some fishing and I'm thinking a fun picnic and kite flying sounds fun!! Can't wait:)

Love to all!!

Half Way There!

I hit my 20 week mark! 5 months, I can't believe it!! The time is just flying by and I'm LOVING every minute of it:) It's making me realize though how close baby Evelyn is to being here...not too long from now she will be home with us in our arms. I melt just thinking of it. My last appointment - the BIG one - went great, couldn't have asked for better news. We are in the clear so now we can just sit back and enjoy the pregnancy.
Our Baby Girl...she's getting big!!

20wks
In my Week 20 baby update it says the baby is now the length of a banana!! Crazy!! It's so hard to believe I have a baby the size of a banana in my belly right now. Especially when I look down...I don't feel like my belly is reallly that big yet, she must just be all rolled up in a little ball! Oh and guess what...I definitely feel her moving and kicking around now!! It's so fun to just sit on the couch with Matt and watch for my belly to make some sort of move. They are pretty much just small little punches but the other night I was laying in bed watching TV and from the corner of my eye I saw the center of my belly shoot up!! I'm pretty sure it was her leg streching out. I yelled for Matt to come see but wouldn't you know it, she didn't do it again. Poor Matty, I can't wait for him to finally see the things I see. He's waiting so patiently. I'm sure she will be moving more and more soon enough!

So after we found out we were for sure having a baby girl I made my first purchase...her bedding!! I got it in the mail the other day and I just LOVE it; it looks even better in person! It matches the wall color perfectly and against the wood floor it makes the room feel so warm and welcoming. Matt will be painting vertical stripes on one of the walls; we are going to use this glaze that will just make it a tone darker than the current yellowey color. My plan is white furniture so picking that out will probably be the next decision we need to make.

LOVE LOVE LOVE IT!!!

Miss Priss Loves it too, she can't wait for baby Evelyn!! This is the wall color...

That's it for baby updates...for now!!! I am going to upload some pics of the house now; there so many updates I feel it needs its own post.

xoxo
